Amongst the works I most appreciated at best, six or seven out of the 23 presented, some are noteworthy for their texts, original and skilfully written. With Speakers, by Denis Levaillant and Madeleine Sola, presented in the music category, produced by the Workshop for Radio Creation of France Culture and the musical creation department of Radio France, the listener can appreciate this encounter of text and sound. This is a musical work, admittedly, but also a true radio work: the narrative blossoms, taking on its full worth spurred on by the sound. Two characters stand out from the chorus: Sunny Cash, the golden boy, is in love with Marie. The seduction is played out in a dialogue marked with stock market intoxication. Love is calculated in quotas, and desire varies according to financial indexes. Strained music, jerky voices... The work was recognised by the festival, for it was honoured with a special prize; pity that it was not the Italia Prize.
Emmanuelle Bouchez Radio piece, with Christian Zanési, 50'. First broadcasting: France Musique, 24/12/1984. Radio piece, for voices, piano and electro-acoustic, 20'. Dedicated to: Caroline Marcadé. First performance: On 10 October 1984 in Paris, Dunois, by the composer. First recording: CD Thésis THC 82051, Musiques for the piano. Publisher: Durand and Cézame-Argile. TÉLÉRAMA, 17 December 1986 Memories of Félicité is, according to Denis Levaillant, "a pianist's story". Reminiscences of these little slots (2 ½ minutes) of happiness that run through a life. The rustling of fabric, footsteps in the distance, just an atmosphere. Outside, it was snowing. Nostalgic piano music. Crystal-clear laughter in a bar. Children shouting. Adult voices murmuring. Are you listening to me? I'd like you to try and remember. Before, there was indeed a moment when words and things were stuck together, when you...Flashes of happiness, sounds of broken crockery being swept up. "What happened? Hey, you can tell me. Why did all that stop? Are you listening to me?" Eliane Azoulay
